Not For Sale

I was the one who the leaders could always count on.

I would never miss a service for I knew where I belong.

I was so faithful in my attendance, in faithfulness, that was me

I had so much joy in my heart and I was so very free

When the alarm went off, I’m out of bed and onto the floor.

With a flash, I got ready for church and then went out the door.

I said in my heart, I’m committed and devil you can’t prevail

I’ve given my life to God! Satan, “I’m not for sale.”

As time went on, I’ve noticed there was a change in my heart.

I couldn’t understand why the joy I had once known, had departed.

I asked the Lord, LORD! What is wrong on the inside of me?

How come I’m so discouraged and I am no longer free?

Jesus said with a loving voice, I know you now realize,

That by missing church your faithfulness have been compromised

As long as you kept me first, in church you would always be,

My peace would sustain you and you would always remain free,

But you listened to the enemy’s voice that said, “Stay home today”

You are still a Christian and everything will still be ok.

It’s ok to miss a service every now and then.

Go ahead and stay home, it is not a sin.

The next thing I knew, I began to miss more and more.

It became a habit and life itself, became a bore.

So, if this message is now speaking to you.

Return back to your faithfulness and faithfully follow it through

When you miss a service, you will miss your supply

Because you stayed home and listened to the devil’s lie.

So stand up in authority. Don’t let your flesh and the devil prevail

You say with a loud voice, In the Name of Jesus, I’m not for sale

David said: “I was glad when that said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."
