Treasure Quest | Week 4
Weekend Recap
A patient person is someone who waits. They know that God is on their side, and they trust in His timing. God knows what we need, and He wants to give it to us. When we don’t get what we want on our timeline, the good decision is to wait patiently.
What you Need:
1 cup of water
3 cups of sugar
- Food coloring
- A glass jar
- A lead-free paper clip
What you do:
- Boil 1 cup of water.
- Stir in 3 cups of sugar, 1 teaspoon at a time; once the sugar starts to clump at the bottom of the pot, enough sugar has been added.
- Pour the sugar-water solution into a clear, glass jar.
- Add food coloring.
- Tie a wool or cotton string to the middle of a pencil; tie a lead-free paper clip to the other end of the string.
- Wool or cotton string
- Pencil
- A paper towel or coffee filter
- Dangle the string into the sugar solution, making sure the paper clip is close to, but not touching the bottom of the jar.
- Move the jar to a location where it will be undisturbed but can be observed closely; cover the jar with a paper towel or coffee filter to protect it from contamination.
- About 24 hours later, you should see crystals forming. Crystals will continue to form until the sugar is used up.
